I was born in Kaitaia, New Zealand, on the 6th July 1968. On December 23rd 1991 I was in a car accident resulting in a spinal injury, leaving me a tetraplegic, confined to a wheelchair ever since.
I always loved painting and drawing so while I was in the Spinal Unit in Auckland I attended art classes and was encouraged by a fellow artist to apply to Mouth and Foot Painting Artists Association for a scholarship.
Before my injury I was on a dairy farm and raising 2 young children, who are now adults. 10 years after the accident I had 3 more children who are now teenagers and living with me here in Palmerston North, New Zealand.
When I am not painting I enjoy spending the day at the beach or the mountains with my family.
I aspire to travel to other countries and paint their scenery and people.
